The Shaji Kailas directorial will be available to stream on ZEE5 from September 11, 2026. The OTT platform officially shared the new poster for the film, announcing the streaming date as well. The digital release comes nearly two months after the movie opened in theatres.‘Varavu’ received a mixed response from audiences during its theatrical run. Its arrival on OTT could bring the movie to a wider audience.

‘Varavu’ brings Joju George and Shaji Kailas together for the first time in a Malayalam movie. Joju George leads the cast in the action-oriented film. A.K. Sajan has written the screenplay for ‘Varav’. The writer has previously worked with Shaji Kailas on films such as ‘Chinthamani Kolacase’ and ‘Red Chilles’.
‘Varavu’ had a modest theatrical opening
‘Varavu’ started its theatrical journey with a modest box-office performance. According to Filmibeat, the movie earned an estimated Rs 51 lakh gross in India on its opening day. Figures shared by the Cine Times X page suggested that approximately 10.31K tickets were sold before its theatrical release.On Day 1, the movie reportedly sold another 25.58K tickets. This took the overall reported ticket sales to 35.89K. Despite the initial interest, the movie went on to receive mixed reactions from audiences.On the other hand, Mohanlal and Vismaya Mohanlal starrer ‘Thudakkam’ is also heading to OTT after a successful theatrical run. The Jude Anthany Joseph directorial will stream on September 18.
