₹4 lakh government subsidy to support pharmacy shops
Setting up a generic medicine shop is estimated to require an investment of around ₹8 lakh. To reduce the financial burden on beneficiaries, the Andhra Pradesh government will provide ₹4 lakh as a subsidy, while the remaining amount is expected to be arranged through bank loans.This means eligible candidates will not have to make a large investment from their own pockets to start the business. However, beneficiaries will be responsible for arranging suitable shop space or a room for the pharmacy.The scheme is expected to be implemented through the BC Corporation, which will receive applications, identify eligible beneficiaries and facilitate access to bank loans.
Opportunity for B Pharmacy and D Pharmacy graduates

Who can apply for the Generic Pharmacy Scheme?
The scheme has laid down specific eligibility conditions for applicants. Candidates must meet the prescribed social, educational and economic criteria to be considered.Applicants are expected to fulfil the following conditions:
- Must belong to the BC community and possess a valid caste certificate.
- Must be a resident of Andhra Pradesh.
- Must be between 21 and 60 years of age.
- Must belong to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.
- Must have completed D Pharmacy, B Pharmacy or M Pharmacy.
